Week 3 - Getting to Work

This week I spent 28 hours actually designing the look fo the site. I am not happy yet but have learned a lot.
  • thanks to professor Jim Erbe for steering me to a group of web tutorials and website specifically on designing with google sites. The site is Google Sites Web Design.

Two of the things I learned that I incorporated right away were how to create a favicon and upload it to google sites. See for details: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNTmfab-hXc&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Also, I was directed to a site for planning site colors:
http://colorschemedesigner.com/. This helped me determine web friendly as well as artistically appealing color combinations. I came up with the colors for tabs, links and heading sizes. Here are the colors I plan to use throughout:
Unfortunately, I have not as yet figured out how within google sites management to set up heading colors across the site. I shall bring it up in our discussion forum.
